Performing arts centre/center, also abbreviated as PAC, is intended to provide a central location and a stage for various theatrical, opera, ballet or other artistic performances. It may be used to exhibit such performances, or it may even be a space where the performing arts are presented. This venue is often privately owned by the people who own the buildings and the land where the performances and productions take place. PAC can be a small one-purpose room, or it can be a large multi-purpose public performing arts center.

The tern performing arts center was first used in the 1980s as a part of a community development initiative in several U.S. cities, for example, the performing arts center was located in a public recreational facility, allowing people in the area the opportunity to go to the shows, while benefiting from the activities being conducted in the center. PAC was designed to complement this public recreational facility by creating an even more accessible space that also offered the artists who performed in the space the chance for wider audiences. In addition to the public space, PAC can also be used for private functions, such as private dinners and meetings. PAC was named after the city where it is most commonly found; the name PAC was chosen to represent "people who put on the show," and "performance spaces." PAC is often used in family programming. It is a great way for the entire family to get together and enjoy each others company, while watching live theatrical presentations, or enjoying family programs, both classic and current hits, musicals, ballets and other performances. Many churches also use a performing arts center as a family entertainment center, as well as a place to hold church conferences and special events.

There are many reasons why people use a performing arts center for family programming, but it is probably most common for them to host birthday parties. PAC can help with everything from booking the venue, decorating it and purchasing tickets, to picking out flowers and food, setting up the buffet table and serving refreshments. The possibilities are endless when it comes to what a performing arts center can do for a family gathering.  Visit the Betty Jayne Brimmer Center for the Performing Arts today.

When a performing arts center first opens, it must meet the needs of the audience. It is important that it be a fun place to be and a pleasant experience for visitors. It should be warm and friendly, with plenty of comfortable seating and easy access to the stage and the audience. Often, they will have a permanent stage and sound system, but sometimes they will rent temporary stages and sound systems until their permanent venue is ready. They may also rent chairs and popcorn machines, take down chairs and tables, set up a restroom and even set up a concession stand for customers. The possibilities are endless, but PAC makes all these possible and more.

When you think of performing arts centers, PAC is often the first thing that comes to mind. PAC is very different than a performing arts organization in many ways. They are more than happy to work with businesses and corporations and provide their clients with after hours security, VIP services after the show, and shuttle service around town if necessary. Their popularity has spread through much of the United States and they are now known as the official venue for the Academy Awards and many other prestigious events.
